Waking up earlyMarch 16, 2015
Let me start by saying that I have respect for people that have a blog for years and keep writing continuously. For me it’s always been short periods of writing after which I was distracted by more important things again. It’s been almost a year since my last post and it makes me feel a bit sad that I’ve left it like that. But like with many things in life, it’s never too late to start over, so here is another one.
Regularly I read articles from people that wake up really early in the morning and about how much more time they have. I have to say that waking up at 05.00AM doesn’t sound so appealing, but maybe a little bit earlier wouldn’t hurt. So, last night I’d put the alarm clock at 06.00AM and woke up pretty excited, knowing I had some extra time this morning. After doing my daily exercises I practiced the piano for a while before I took a shower. When I was dressed and ready for breakfast, I realised I still had quite some time left. I wondered: what to do with all that time? Can you imagine having the luxury of a lot of extra time? Very exciting!
A little more than a year ago, I also had a period of waking up early and I just thought back of what I did those days. One of the things was writing this blog and so here I am again. I think writing is good for processing things, I can really recommend writing a journal, and also hopefully it will inspire some other people. I love to read and write, it’s just something you have to set time apart for.
It’s easy to think that you don’t have time for some of the things you’d like to do. This post is a good illustration of how you can make it happen: wake up earlier! It’s so nice to be able to start the day with things you’d like to do, where you normally can’t find the time to do them. Whatever it is that you like to do, exercising, reading, writing, meditation, playing an instrument (keep your neighbours in mind), maybe even cooking dinner for the night, if you just wake up earlier, you’ll find time for it. I hope I can find the discipline to keep writing again, at least is here the first post of 2015. Written before 07.30AM.
