From time to time I like to go to a cafe or restaurant, order a drink and take time to write in one of my notebooks. Besides just writing down my thoughts and ideas, I also like grab a list of interesting questions from the internet and answer those. Last weekend I stumbled upon an question that made me think for a while: “Where will I be in 5 years if I keep heading in this direction?” Although I’m strongly believe in living in the moment and living now, I think it’s also good to stand still some time and... Last week I wrote about why it’s important to ask yourself questions. I think it’s even more important to ask yourself why you do the things you do. There are times in business and life when things get a little less fun. I love having my own company and to work for many people. Often you do things, simply because that’s how all the others do it. If you can think of a way to do it different and know why it’s better, than you’re extraordinary. Thinking about the why in design reminded me of my years in college where I studied newspaper and magazine design. In those classes the why was just as important as the design itself. You have to know why you... View Article

I love to write. Most of the time I write code. Regularly I write thoughts and ideas down in a journal and from time to time I make notes in a notebook or in Evernote. Next to all that, I also got the desire to write publicly again, so tonight I quickly set up this blog. It still needs some finishing touches, but as I’m learning from the book I’m reading at the moment: it’s important to just make a start and so here I am. My idea is to write short blogs about Webdevelopment, UI Design and more interesting... View Article
